Chess Club Back in Business

Youth Services Librarians are pleased to announce Chess Club for students and adults is returning, starting Monday, March 10, at 3:30 p.m. in the Library's Meeting Room.

Students in Kindergarten through High School are welcome to register and play each other Monday afternoons, March 10 through May 19. Adults who enjoy the game are encouraged to join in and offer any tips they have to share.

Local chess enthusiasts Zacherey Mingo and Susannah Guidice will monitor the chess playing and advise students on strategies.

Anyone intersted in joining the chess club is asked to register by contacting the Youth Services Librarians at (508) 336-8230 x140 or by visiting in person.

Thursday, April 24 at 4pm, Mad Science!! with "Atomic Allen"
A magic trick and science introduction followed by fun, hands-on "mad science" activities.

Friday, April 25 from 11 am - 1 pm, Legos Workshop
Legos will be available or supply your own to bring creations home.

Family Nights

Join us at 6:30 pm. on the following nights for fun, informative, and entertaining programs!  Registration is not required for these events. Sponsored by the Friends of Seekonk Library 

Monday, March 24, The Legend of King Arthur with
The Hampstead Players
6:30 p.m.

Join King Arthur and his Knights of the Roundtable in the legendary story of the sword and the stone. The legend comes to life with history, humor and swordplay. Through this production, students will be encouraged to stand up for what is right and to overcome their fears through bravery. Sponsored by The Friends of Seekonk Library.

Diane's acting and storytelling give voice to nature, animals and humans by using depth, humor and passion.

April 26th (last meeting for the spring. Stamp Collecting Club will start up again in September.) Join Shawn Pease, member of the RI Philatelic Society, as he helps members discover the fun of “one of the biggest hobbies in the world!”

Looking for the next A.R. book to read? Remember that Aitken and Martin School’s Accelerated Reader Lists are always available on-line at Seekonkpl.org (see link on the homepage). Using the Library’s on-line catalog, titles can be reserved and
then picked up at the Library.
