Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. It has over 15,000 clubs in over 90 nations. The Kiwanis Club of Greater Seekonk sponsors the Key Club at the high school and now the new Builders' Club at the middle school to offer young people the opportunity to develop leadership skills and experience through community service.

15th Annual Taste of the Town
Sponsored by the Kiwanis of Greater Seekonk

Past years  participating restaurants included: Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Audrey’s Restaurant, Autumn's Cafe, Bone Yard Barbeque, Chardonnay’s Restaurant, Cold Stone Creamery, Country Kitchen, Darling’s Restaurant, Davenport’s Restaurant, Jacob Hill B&B, Lemon & Oil Deli, the Luxury Box, Ninety-Nine Restaurant, Old Grist Mill Tavern, Seekonk Pizza Factory, Seraphim Tea and More, Stop & Shop, Tai Pan Restaurant, Tito’s Cantina, Toti's Restaurant, Vinno's Family Cafe and Young’s Caterer’s.

           
Wine tasting will again be offered by many wine vendors. And raffles of certificates from the participators will be available.

Enjoy a tasty meal of clams, hot dogs, sausage, linguisa, potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions and ice cream sandwiches for dessert.           
Seating is limited and tickets must be purchased ahead of time.

Community Events

Annual Tree Lighting
The annual tree lighting, sponsored by the Kiwanis of Greater Seekonk will be held on:
Thursday, December 2, 2010
6:00 PM
Town Hall
100 Peck Street
Seekonk, MA
Christmas music will be provided by the Hurley Middle School Brass Ensemble.
Santa will arrive by Fire Truck to meet all the children.
Hot chocolate and cookies will be available.
Everyone is invited.  So children, bring your parents, aunts and uncles and most of all, your grandparents.
 
We will be accepting donations for the Seekonk food pantry "Doorways". The following food items are needed: canned meat and fish, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, sauce, rice, beans, soup, peanut butter, cereal, macaroni and cheese.
