_________________________________________________________________ Seekonk Public Library News 3.09 September 2004 A monthly newsletter about the Seekonk Public Library http://www.seekonkpl.org news@seekonkpl.org _________________________________________________________________ Greetings from the Director, Sharon E. St. Hilaire: Thank you for your patience this summer. We have been unable to keep up with the level of activity because our budget was cut. Customers borrowed nearly the same amount of materials in four days as they did in 6 days. ****************************************************************** July's average was 1,500 items borrowed per day! Over 1,000 items were returned each day! ****************************************************************** We had 5 less people working this summer than last year. We lost 3 through budget cuts, 1 through injury and at least 1 or more on vacation all summer. The library will reopen on Saturday's on September 11th,at 10 o'clock. ________________________________________________________________ VOLUNTEERS We are looking for a few good people who would like to apply for our unpaid volunteer positions. You must be willing to commit to specific hours each week.
