Greetings from the Library Director, Sharon E. St.Hilaire:


I just wanted to remind everyone that we have laptop computers for people to use.

It only takes a minute to check one out to use in the library. Because the

library is wireless, every seat in the library becomes a computer station. 

The laptops and the wireless network were purchased through a grant. The 

new furniture and shelving were also paid through two other grants. 

These improvements were not paid for with your tax dollars.

 You can now send faxes from the library. 

The cost is $1.00 per page for Continental U.S. and $2.00 per page 

International. The money collected through this service will go 

into the Town's General Fund.

August Summer Highlights:

August 7th, Little Hands: A Musical Adventure
Join us for stories and music featuring Mike Myers and his handmade
instruments.  If you've never seen a Ductimba, Plinkaplunka or
Mega Plunk (and even if you have) it will be fun for all.
Sponsored by the Seekonk Cultural Council. 

August 14th, Rewards Night For Summer Reading
Rewards Night will be held to honor those children and their
families who have completed the Library's Summer Library
Adventure.  Raffles and special treats will be awarded to all
who have successfully completed this program.


The following events are sponsored by the Friends of Seekonk Library

Concert Series:

August 2nd, Sing We Merry
Enjoy an evening with this seven member women's voice ensemble as they
perform show tunes and standards along with 16th century songs and
classic melodies of all times.

August 9th, Meadow-Larks Dixieland Band
Enjoy a night of Dixieland jazz with this popular local band.

August 16th Vini Ames and Sh-Bop
This exciting revue pays tribute to the musical stars of the fabulous
fifties and sensational sixties.  Sh-Bop will take you back to that
memorable era of hot rods, poodle skirts, malt shops and rock n roll.
Vini Ames & Sh-Bop is New England's favorite oldies show.
